The name “Bihar “is derived from Vihara, which means “abode” The name “Jharkhand” means “The Land of Forests”.
Bihar is a state in eastern India. It is the 12th largest state. The Bihar plain is divided into two parts by the river Ganges. Patna is its capital. Jharkhand was carved out of the southern part of Bihar on 15th November 2000. The industrial city of Ranchi is its capital, while Jamshedpur is the largest city of the state.
Bihar and Jharkhand have an inseparable identity, as India’s first empire, the Maurya Empire, Budhism and Freedom struggle for India arose from this region
